Christy’s daughter Kiera announced the death of her cousin Christopher Dignam Healy on social media.

She wrote: “My little cousin. What a cruel world.”

The Irish Mirror reports that the 27-year-old passed away from a heart attack.

His death notice reads: “Suddenly but peacefully at the Mater Hospital (aged 27 years) surrounded by his loving family.

“Loving father of Ellie Grace and Frankie, beloved son of Therese Dignam and Ed Healy, cherished brother of Ellen and Eric and dear uncle to Penny.

“Sharing in grief, sorrow and loss are his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends and all who knew and loved him.”

He will be reposing at at Michael Doyle Funeral Home this Friday the 27th between 4pm and 6pm.

The funeral service is set to take place on Saturday at Glasnevin Crematorium at 1pm.

Messages of Condolences can be sent to doylefunerals@gmail.com.

This comes after fans recently rallied around Christy Dignam and raised nearly €5,000 for the legendary singer’s cancer treatment.

The Dublin frontman shocked supporters earlier this week by revealing he’s been receiving palliative care at home with his family.

FAN SUPPORT

Now fans of the Crazy World hitmakers have put their money where their mouths are and dug deep to support Christy in his time of need.

GoFundMe set up in aid of Dignam – which has been approved by his family – has attracted donations of over €5,000 in a matter of days.

Organiser Stephen Browne explained: “Dear Friends and Fans of Christy Dignam. As many of you know, Christy is currently at home receiving palliative care from his family and a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

“As fans of Christy and knowing the amount of charity work he has done for families and charities across Ireland, I have received numerous requests from fans who would like to donate and show support, the idea to donate their refunded ticket money to Christy and his family was mentioned a number of times.

GIVING BACK

“Christy has had to cancel many shows across Ireland, including the 3Arena show, which would have been a highlight for both him and fans across Ireland.

“Despite his declining health, Christy was able to play one last concert in July 2022 as part of his 40th anniversary tour before it had to be stopped.

“We (The Fans) would like to take this opportunity to give back to Christy and his family, as his income has stopped since he was unable to tour due to his cancer.

“Christy has always been there for us, showing up to charity events and even funerals of loved ones, and now it is time for us to give back to him and his family.”
