A teacher in the California Capistrano School District boasted in a post that her classroom “queer library” now has about 100 volumes. Concerned parents note that many of the books contain explicit “sex imagery, information on orgies, sex parties, and BDSM,” according to Fox News.
The teacher serves children at San Juan Hills High School. Her name is Danielle Serio, but is better known as “Flint.”
Flint’s multiple TikTok posts show the “queer library” to have been in place for about five years.
This family-friendly post omits many of the sexually-explicit aspects of this “library,” which many argue is inappropriate for minors — particularly in a public school setting.
According to the Fox News report, one of the books, “Juliet Takes a Breath” by Gabby Rivera, “contains extremely graphic imagery of sex between women.”
Fox adds that the book “Everything you Ever Wanted to Know About Being Trans…” profiles “BDSM, fetishes and a kink social media networking site.”
The book reads: “I find the BDSM/Kink community to be extremely open-minded and welcoming in every way; it’s a place of sexual liberation.
The book goes on to state: “There is often more blanket level of acceptance of transgender people within the kink/BDSM (bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism) scenes and sites such as FetLife.”
FetLife is a social media networking site for the “kink community.”
Another book in the “library” is titled “This Book is Gay.” The book endorses the casual hookup site Grindr and includes explicit information on various sexual activities, claiming, “this is fine as long as you’re safe.”
In one post, Flint interviewed San Juan Hills High Principal, Dr. Manoj Mahindrakar, and posted the interview on TikTok.
When asked if he thought “it’s important to have a queer library on campus,” Mahindraker replied, “In my educational experience, books are always a good thing and any books that support our students, I’m for.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Mahindrakar, the superintendent and Flint for comment about the appropriateness of the materials for children but did not receive a response.
Amazingly, in one TikTok video, Flint questions why parents distrust educators.
“I’ve been wondering lately why it’s so hard for so many people in the general public to trust educators about education – the thing that we studied and do every day. It’s been so long since they were in school, I’m wondering if they have extreme or outdated views about what’s happening in the classroom,” Flint said.
In May, California News reported that 361,000 people fled California last year. Additionally, 110,283 students dropped out of the California public school system in 2022, and 161,000 the year before.
