The dystopian revelation comes despite Amazon stating it would not share customer information with law enforcement without consent, a warrant or in an emergency.
Amazon claimed in a letter made public Wednesday “there was an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury” that required disclosure of the information without delay.
Ring has 2,161 law enforcement agencies on its Neighbors Public Safety Service, a platform that allows agencies to request information from users.
