BARCELONA – Football star Sergio Aguero suffered breathing difficulties on his home debut for Barcelona and has since been hospitalized for further tests. The Argentine striker, who left Manchester City for Barcelona as a free agent in the summer, required medical attention shortly before half-time having complained of dizziness. There was growing distress in the stadium in the 40th minute as Aguero lay flat on the pitch, having gone down moments after he had his hand placed on his chest, a look of pain on his face.
FC Barcelona confirmed in a statement after the match:
“Aguero reported chest discomfort and has been admitted to the hospital for a cardiac exam.”
Several sources claim that he was diagnosed with tachycardia – an elevated heart rate unrelated to physical exertion. He’s currently in the hospital for further tests.
The incident comes just 6 weeks after Aguero went online to promote the COVID-19 vaccine to 12-year-olds:

Remember, vaccinating ourselves allows the virus to not spread as easily.

It is not yet confirmed whether Aguero has been vaccinated.
